Bartina in Trouble Again - A Chapter Book - Now Published!
Bartina in Trouble Again chronicles the humorous adventures of a rambunctious third grader as she navigates a world controlled by adults. Sharing Bartina’s adventures in Skanska Skoonska, Norway are her shy friend Helga and her pain-in-the-butt younger brother Thor as well as Robbie the Dragon who often rescues Bartina when she finds herself in trouble. Robbie has come over from England in search of more forests and fish. Camouflaged and seen only by Bartina in the stories, Robbie frequently reminds Bartina that if she followed the rules, she would not find herself in trouble. Bartina learns from her mistakes and, in the words of Anne of Green Gables, “she never makes the same mistake twice” providing a unifying theme to the chapters.
Chapter book readers join Bartina on many adventures. Highlights include:
- A camping weekend supervised by Mrs. Hike-N-Bike. Highlights include a bear in Bartina’s tent and a near-miss canoeing over the waterfall.
- A class trip to the zoo with her teacher Mrs. Rant-N-Rave where Bartina comes face-to-face with a moose.
- Bartina and Helga playing the role of a cow in the school play as Bartina exasperates both Mr. Hush-N-Shush, the librarian, and Mrs. Dance-N-Prance, the play director.
- Bartina and Thor at the local fair where Bartina fights with a goat for her sweater and the two children find themselves on a run-away horse.
All these adventures are recounted in ten chapters totaling 9000 words.
